Holiday Booking Idea

DSC02544Stylist Stacey King of Duluth, GA has one of the best booking ideas I have seen in a long time.  Hiedi Scott, her sponsor sent it to me today and I wanted everybody to see it.  She went to Target and bought the small blue tinsel Christmas tree -It was about $8.  It’s oh so Stella & Dot.

At her last trunk show she took it with her and had it decorated with small photos of what she was giving away for FREE to everyone who booked a trunk show with her.   She just cut photos out of the Look Book and glued them on construction paper and then tied them on the tree with curly ribbon.

Stacey’s plan is to order the free booking gift item on the future hostess’ show.  I believe that she is keeping it to items that are $29 or under.  The future hostess just removes the cut out picture from the tree and takes it home along with a hostess packet of information.

She booked 2 trunk show using this method.  LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Reminder Calls Made EASY!

Post Calls Would you like your trunk show average to increase dramatically?   Stupid  question right?  Of course we all would love that.  The best and easiest way to do that is to increase attendance at your shows.  The best way to increase attendance is to make reminder calls to all the guests but it takes a lot of time and most hostesses just won’t do it.  Using Post Calls is an easy and affordable way to make the reminder calls for her.

On Monday’s training call with Hiedi Scott on sponsoring she was asked the question “How do I increase attendance at my trunk shows”?  She said first be honest with your hostess and tell her – don’t expect to get a big turn out by just sending an email or post card you have to call also.  Then she tells (not asks) her hostess how she will invite the guests.  First, send a post card or email invite,  call as many as she can and personally invite, and then make reminder calls.  Here’s where Post Calls come in because you can offer to make ALL the reminder calls for her using Post Calls.

It’s an automated calling system where you enter the phone numbers to be called (no names necessary) and then pre-record your message and schedule when you want the calls to be made – it’s that quick and simple.  So when you are hostess coaching you tell her you need the phone numbers of everyone she is inviting so you can make those time consuming reminder calls.  She’ll think you are a goddess for doing that for her and you will love the results.

The calls are 7.5 cents each so if she invites 50 guests it will only cost you $3.75!  Well worth the cost I think.  To get signed up for an account and to get the special pricing of 7.5 cents call Kathie Davis at 888-229-5708 or email at kdavis@callingpost.com and tell her you are with Stella & Dot Jewelry and you want to get started with Post Calls at the special 7.5 cent price.  Initially you have to purchase 500 calls which costs $37.50.  You can check out the website by clicking here.  But don’t sign up without talking to Kathie or you will be charged the regular price of 18 cents a call.

This is not a direct sales or multi-level marketing company so you are not signing up in anything just getting an account with Post Calls.  For $37.50 it’s worth a try – it may just be the thing that wins you the glam getaway!

Great Solution for Ripped Earlobes!

Dawn Howe a Mint Jewelep in Mobile, Alabama found a great solution for our customers who want to wear our fabulous statement earrings but can’t because of ripped or stretched earlobes.  The product is called Lobe Wonder.  Click on the name and you will be taken to an Amazon.com site where you can purchase them.  Notice this site is offering 4 boxes of 60 each for $20.38 so you will be able to share with other stylists on your team.  I chose this site because they received 5 out of 5 stars in the their review and some of the others were as low as 2 stars.  Basically they are a round plastic disc with a hole in the middle and they stick to the back of the earlobe.  The earring is inserted in the hole in disc and holds it in the correct spot with no pulling on the hole.

How to use them to boost sales:  Have the Lobe Wonder patches at your trunk shows and just mention them to the guests and if someone seems interested let them try one to see how it works.  Then tell them if they order a pair of statement earrings you will give them a sheet of the patches to take home with them.  Make the presentation cute and be sure to include the web site address where they can purchase their own.  Now that’s what I call outstanding customer service.

Thanks for sharing Dawn!

Turning a Lemon into Lemonade!

Charlize BibI am really proud of myself!  I practiced what I preach and it worked!

THE LEMON:  I got an email today from a customer at my show last Tuesday saying she received her Charlize Bib necklace with a stone missing.

WHAT I PREACH:  I always say to handle a return personally and pick it up from the customer.  So that’s what I did.  I told her how sorry I was she received the necklace in that condition but that I would take of it and have a new one coming her way ASAP!

THE LEMONADE:  We talked and in our conversation I worked it around to my business and how I am working on growing it in the Birmingham area and I asked her if she would host a trunk show so I could introduce Stella & Dot to her cool friends.  She said YES!  We set the date for July 28.  I have been on the phone over the last two days trying to get that date filled.  Thank goodness she got a defective necklace or I would still be making calls.

So, next time you have a return (a lemon), handle it personally and see if you end up with lemonade.  Exceptional customer service always makes a positive impact on your business.  I can’t wait for my next return to see what happens!

Choosing the Right Earrings for Your Face Shape

Charlize TeardropI found a great article on this subject online.  We all want feel professional and knowledgeable at our trunk shows and knowing how to help a customer choose the right earrings is a great way to do it.  Knowing and using this kind of information establishes you as an “expert” stylist and sets you apart from other Stella & Dot stylist.

You still want to keep your shows fun, light, easy, and breezy  - never coming across as a know-it-all, but as a stylin’, helpful, and happenin’ Stella & Dot stylist.  Presenting yourself in this fun, happenin’, hip, professional way you will see bookings increase.  Why wouldn’t a woman want her friends to benefit from all your knowledge on style?

Click Here to go directly to the article.  Start arming yourself with info that makes you as valuable as your jewelry.  Your customers will feel like they have hit the jackpot when they attend one of your shows and will be more likely to schedule one of their own.  I printed it out and have it my “style” file for future reference.

Let me know if you like this kind of info and I’ll post more.  I want the Mint Jeweleps to be known “THE” team in Stella & Dot and I think knowing this kind of info helps us do that.

Meet our Newest Star Stylist – Elizabeth Sweeney of Hilton Head, SC

Elizabeth SweeneyElizabeth you are amazing!

Listen to this guys – In June Elizabeth sold $3826, sponsored 6 new stylist, and promoted to Star Stylist.  Oh yeah, I left out one really important fact – It was her first full month in Stella & Dot!  I don’t know if that is the company record for shortest time in getting to Star Stylist but it sure is a Mint Jewelep record.

Elizabeth, I say “Thank you” for adding to the legacy of greatness on the Mint Jewelep team.  We’ll be looking for more great things in the near future!  I have a challenge for you – Your sponsor Anna Muir promoted to Director in just 4 months ( I believe a company record) let’s see if you can beat that!

Look What Jillian Wore Last Night

Come on guys when you kiss Jillian quit covering up her earrings!  How can our customers see them?

Rebecca Vivoni had a show Monday night and the Bachlorette was on.  She and Jillian both had on the Turquoise Sea Drop Earrings!  Love it!

Meet Anna Muir – Stella & Dot’s Newest Director!

Anna MuirAnna is only the 9th Stylist to promote to Director in the history of Stella & Dot and that deserves a standing ovation!!!  What’s even more impressive is that she did it in only 4 months and that may be a first!  Her Launch was $5400+, she sold $13,788 her first month and was ranked #2 in the company in sales that month and has been a consistent Top Sponsor.  This month her sales are $4500 and she has sponsored 4 new stylists.  As you can see Anna is not one to rest on her laurels.

She has built a an unbelievable team of amazing women with a tremendous work ethic.  Jennifer Raulet and Ashley Felton both sponsored by Anna promoted to Star Stylist in the last 2 days and are perfect examples of the type of stylists on Anna’s team.  She also has 3 more stylists in her first level who have a great chance to promote to Star Stylist next month.  That could mean a promotion for Anna to Senior Director and that would be a FIRST for Stella & Dot!

At Hoopla in July she is slated to speak in 3 different segments!  It appears she has made quite an impression on the corporate office because they are using only the best of the best to train.  Anna you make me proud to be a Mint Jewelep!

Congratulations to you Anna and to your team because to get this far it’s truly a TEAM effort.

Ashley Felton our Newest Star Stylist!

Ashley Felton

Wooooooo Hooooooooo!

You made it Girl!  Way to go!  Ashley has had a fantastic beginning to her Stella & Dot career.  In April, her first month, she sold $12,095 and was #3 in the whole company in sales and had the second highest show of the month at $5232. In May she sponsored 5 and tied for #2 in the whole company.  Now skip ahead to June her 3rd month and she promotes to Star Stylist!  Maybe we should call her Queen Midas!

Her team didn’t get the memo either about the reduced volume requirements for GVC in June because so far they have $9337 well over the $8000 regular month requirement.

Ashley with a work ethic like yours the sky is the limit.  You make me so proud to be a Mint Jewelep!

Rachael Celenski has a baby!

Rachael Celenski of Orlando, Florida gave birth to Stella on June 28

She weighs in at 8 lbs. 3 ozs.  Yes, you read it correctly – we have a new Stella in the world.  Here’s the story – Rachael just became a stylist in May and Stella’s name had been chosen months before but when the Stella & Dot opportunity was presented by her sponsor Melissa Seltmann she knew she had to do it.  Of course she was limited on time to get her business started before Stella arrived but she didn’t waste any time.  her launch was $1000+ and she has already sponsored 2 stylists.  One of her new stylist’s name is Dot …. well …… not really ….. but wouldn’t that have been icing on the cake?!

Rachael I think you should take at least 6 or 7 days off and then get back to work!  Of course I’m kidding – Stella & Dot will be waiting for you when you are ready and that’s one of my favorite things about this business.  Give Stella a big kiss from all the Mint Jeweleps!
